Submissions

by Ferdinand Bardamu

In Mala Fide is devoted to discovering, nurturing and promoting the world’s most talented thought-criminals. If you’re smart enough, interesting enough, or deranged enough to count yourself among their numbers, we’d love to hear from you!

Submitting a Guest Post

If you just want to publish a one-off essay under the “Guest Writer” byline, we’ll set you up. You can submit a post on most anything you want, be it a review of a book about how people are too stupid for democracy, a analysis of annoying behaviors that members of a historically victimized minority group engage in, or a guide on how to get laid when you live in a cardboard box. You can attack your subject matter from any perspective you like – serious, scholarly, or smarmy – so long as you aren’t boring. You don’t necessarily have to write new, original content – if you have a great post or article, I’ll be happy to give it a new lease on life here. If you aren’t sure if your article idea is appropriate for In Mala Fide, read our archives to see the sort of work we publish or email me (Ferdinand Bardamu) with your proposal to see what I think.

When you’re ready, send me an email via the contact form with your article, using subject line “Guest Post”. Don’t forget to include a title for your article and the username/pseudonym you want it published under. You can send it as an attachment (.doc or .docx only) if you want, though I prefer you to cut and paste it into the body of your email. Try to keep your post under 2,500 words if you can. If your article includes images, send them either as attachments (.jpg, .jpeg or .png only) or links. I’ll email you back as soon as I can telling you what I think and when you can expect your article to be published.

Joining the In Mala Fide Staff

So you want to take the next step and become part of our elite team? You can do that too!

In Mala Fide staff writers get their own account, allowing them to log in and post articles whenever they want. If you have a blog, website, Twitter account or other property you want to promote, you can link them from your articles and the “Affiliated Sites” section of the blogroll, increasing the number of visitors you get. Finally, if you have your own blog on In Mala Fide, you’ll be able to post whenever you like, benefiting from being part of a widely read site.

To apply, just email me via the contact form, using subject line “Joining In Mala Fide“. In your email, please provide the following:

  • What you would like your username to be.
  • A brief (less than 100 words) essay on what you want to write about.
  • One or more examples of your writing from other venues (blog posts or comments, forum posts, published articles etc.).

If I like your style, I’ll reply back with your account info and more information.
