We have major loopholes in our sex offender laws. Obviously, Hugh Hefner preying on a woman 60 years younger than him is a perversion. Absolutely disgusting! We need laws against that. Sex or marriage with anyone more then 3 years older or younger should be a felony. That is, if the older party is male, of course – the sexual liberation of cougars, of the protected class known as “women,” must not have their freedom infringed upon. Maybe in this case, a 21 year old young man is taking advantage of a 51 year old woman who is unable to consent due to her irrational attraction?
Or maybe only violation of the “half your age plus 6 years” rule should be made a felony. So 84 year old Hugh Hefner could not abuse any woman younger then 84/2 + 6 = 42 + 6 = 48 years, or would be punished for statutory rape of a 47 year old, incapable of consenting to sex with an old geezer like Hugh Hefner. He should be in jail for objectifying women in Playboy Magazine, anyway.
Our sex offender laws are not being enforced. Anyone that has illicit sex with rapes an under 18 year old minor in California needs to get tried and arrested. Yes, that includes minors too – in California, two 17 year olds are not allowed to have sex with each other. That, finally, would allow us to imprison a few million men in California, and only a few women (because in couples, men tend to be the older one of the two).

This is interesting. Do I see strong condemnation?
I come from a libertarian and sex positive stand point.
My point is that people should be able to do what they want, as responsible adults.
So if an 18 year old willingly decides to have an affair or to marry a 97 year old, we might wonder, but it is nobody’s business to prohibit or punish such acts.
Of course, then we also would wonder why a 15 year old with a 25 year old is worth a decade in prison, when 18 y with 97 y is legal. (But I will leave aside the discussion that I believe that adolescents don’t need government protection either, to “protect” them against their own will from their own sexual choices with draconian prison sentences for their consensual lovers)
You can notice that the men above are generally highly desirable, powerful and rich. You will not see a sick, fat, poor, unintelligent 83 year old landing a beautiful 18 year old.
And do you really doubt that many 18 year old girls would instantly choose Brad Pitt or Richard Gere with no concern whatsoever for age differences? The only question is if it is 50% or 0.1% of the girls (which would still leave Millions of under-20y candidates for Brad Pitt)
So I hope we don’t have too many people here who argue that government should prevent adult people from doing what they want.
I personally think this also is inoffensive and causes no harm. But, probably, some people here think otherwise, might think this is bad for society. Most of these men already had prior wives who might have been left alone.
May be I play devil’s advocate in favor of the Muslim system. Don’t divorce your old wife, just add a younger one every 10 years or so. So your middle age wife still has a useful role in your household, doing responsible chores that the young one is not quite able to do.
How can any rational minded person not call the Hugh Hefner / Crystal Harris marriage anything other the prostitution? Are we 5 yo kids on a playground? Marry me, Crystal; I’m only 20 years older. Oh, I don’t have millions of dollars, that’s why. You are not “exposing” any hypocracy here, merely putting it in people’s faces.

Furthermore, I think most marriage is prostitution. Divorces are worse then prostitution, because in that case the man is robbed: he is violently forced to pay with absolutely no service in return (if there are no children)
Or maybe prostitution comes natural to men and women? Ever since the first man shared the meat of his prey with a pretty woman, and guys here invite girls for luxurious dinners and movies?
Or maybe prostitution is normally defined as girls being totally nondiscriminatory in the choice of partners, purely for money. Most girls here chose pretty attractive men, they were just a little old but rich, powerful and not that bad looking.
I forgot that here are lots of sexually very conservative men. Still, as long as we can agree that the government should not meddle in these affairs, we can perfectly agree to disagree, with no further conflict.

Not in the least; prostitution is no crime at all, and is in fact the basis of all male-female interaction. Resourses for access. Not one marriage has been contracted in history that was not on that basis.
The point of my comment is the convoluted thinking that makes me a criminal for paying a female to use HER BODY to do something for my benefit. Then when we see a 24 yo “alpha female” sell herself to a wealthy 85 yo (in his way)alpha male, we call that “holy matrimony”.

In Lawrence v. Texas in 2003, the US Supreme Court said that states can’t prohibit gays from having sex because it violates their right to privacy. The state can’t interfere with what two consenting adults do in the privacy of their home. Thus, the Supreme Court’s rationale has made prostitution legal whether they like it or not.
It’s absurd that adults can have sex with each other as long as the reason is because of “love”/boredom/as a dare/to piss off an ex/it’s raining outside/the guy bought lunch/the guy bought jewelry/for no reason at all. But if it’s for MONEY? No no no no no, we can’t have that.

The video is of a little girl telling a little boy she WILL marry him. The boy denies that this will ever happen. It was amusing for about 5 seconds, then the boy gets very upset when his mother starts to encourage the little girl to keep saying that she will marry him. Notice how the boy takes it as the ultimate betrayal that his own mother is supporting the little girl.
This mother clearly finds it funny that her son is crying and is being bossed around by the neighbor’s daughter. Feminists shouldn’t be allowed to raise boys.

From an ultimately hedonist view, there’s no problem with establishing poligamy, but first it is necessary to work on the aesthetically disgusting 105 / 100 ratio. Hell, I would even support something that encourages the opposite of truce: massive abortion of male fetuses.
From a monogamy view, which is where we are currently stuck, big age gaps are disguised poligamy and therefore, can’t be tolerated. Restricting older women relationships is overkill, since men naturally avoid them; they only part that requires positive action is the punishment of the way too older men relationships for both sides.
