I swore to all the gods in the world I would never ever mention Laura Wood of The Thinking Housewife ever again, mainly due to the histrionic obsession certain figures of the manosphere have with her. But in this instance, she fired the first salvo, lambasting my comrade Human Stupidity for having the temerity to question the facts of the Dominique Strauss-Kahn rape case. In her attack on In Mala Fide, Wood also made a comment that, were it not uttered in the anarchic thunderdome of the Internet, would constitute an insulting libel:
In contrast, the men’s rights blog In Male Fide rushes to defend Strauss-Kahn of what its writer says must be false rape charges from a maid seeking to victimize a powerful man. If men’s rights advocates had their way there would be no rape charges filed by women. The male of the species is as pure as the driven snow.
Ignore her getting the name of the blog wrong and her mischaracterization of this site as a “men’s rights blog,” and focus your attention on her remark about MRAs and rape. On what lunatic basis does Wood justify this? Does calling attention to the very real onslaught of false rape accusations in our world constitute wanting “no rape charges filed by women”? Does giving someone accused of a crime the benefit of the doubt – a basic underpinning of the Western justice system for centuries – constitute wanting “no rape charges filed by women”? Does being skeptical of the truthfulness of a criminal accusation hurled by someone who has everything to gain from it constitute wanting “no rape charges filed by women”?
I don’t subscribe to the view that “the male of the species is as pure as the driven snow”, but the fact of the matter that our legal system, media and government behave as if the FEMALE of the species is as pure as the driven snow, and the surfeit of false rape accusations in recent years proves it. Men accused of rape are pilloried by the media and society, pronounced guilty by reason of being men, the burden of proof shoved on THEM in a perverse reversal of our legal principles. Does the Duke lacrosse case ring any bells? Ben Roethlisberger? Kobe Bryant? Julian Assange? There is no shortage of women today who will cry rape against famous and powerful men for the pettiest of reasons, based on the flimsiest of evidence.
A rational person would, knowing all this, reserve judgment in rape cases, particularly ones in which the accused stands a great deal to lose. But Laura Wood is not rational – she is just another mindless drone cheering on innocents who get dragged to the gallows. She is, by her own words, a tacit supporter of our modern day feminist witch trials. For further proof of this, she approvingly quoted a letter to the editor of that bastion of traditionalist thought, the New York Times:
Whatever the result of the case against Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the chief of the International Monetary Fund, his arrest is an exhilarating example of the evolution of justice. For most of human history, a servant accusing a politically powerful man of rape would have been laughed at. In much of North America and Europe this is no longer the case; if there is sufficient evidence, anyone can be tried and convicted.
At this point Mr. Strauss-Kahn must be awarded the presumption of innocence. But the fact that the maid who accused him was given the respect she deserves and her accusations treated seriously shows that there can be dramatic progress in our ideas of justice and a just society.

No, Mr. Pansy Liberal, you’re wrong. Nothing has changed. There has been no “dramatic progress in our ideas of justice”. All that has happened is that the “politically powerful” groups have changed. Women, all women now occupy the space dominated by “politically powerful men” in the past. Women are always believed when they cry rape, never second-guessed, and never punished for destroying mens’ lives with phony rape accusations. If the woman happens to be a sainted minority, such as the accuser in the Strauss-Kahn case (she’s apparently black and from Trinidad), the victimology levels get cranked up even more. And some feminists say this STILL isn’t enough, seeking to overthrow the presumption of innocence in our legal system and take us all the way back to the Middle Ages, all in the name of “protecting” women. A man accused of rape? STONE HIM! STONE THE WITCH!
As for me, I have no opinion on whether Strauss-Kahn is guilty or not. While a significant part of me would like to see him rot in jail anyway, prosecuting a bankster on the basis of a rape charge that may be fabricated means we’re just exchanging one evil for another. As such, I applaud Human Stupidity for daring to take an unpopular but principled stand in search of the truth, and will continue to publish any follow-up reports he writes on the case. It’s entirely possible to both think Strauss-Kahn is a repellent human being AND that he’s innocent of this particular crime – a concept that morally debased harlots like Laura Wood will never understand.

It’s pretty amazing. As many commenters in the manosphere have noted, most, probably all women cheer Team Woman. Just look at the title of her piece: “When Justice for A Servant Brings Down a Powerful Man.” She seems so happy about this.
More and more evidence keep coming in that it is really women who hate men. Some sort of “delilah syndrome.” As unjust as it seems to group all women together, it’s becoming hard to deny that all women are like that.

The “Thinking” Housewife is given to hyperbole, but I do think that the MRM does give off the perception that all rape allegations are false off the bat. The MRM jumped to the defense of DSK in a completely unprincipled way, before they even examined any of the details, and their basis for that defense is ideological in nature. This guy could have just gotten out of prison for being a confessed serial rapist, and the MRM would jump to his defense as being obviously innocent in this newest incidence of rape.
The guy looks pretty guilty, and has from the word go, but no one in the MRM has seriously even read about the case. They just read ‘rich politico getting accused’ and concluded that it was probably a false allegation. Even if false claims are very prominent they aren’t so prominent that you can assume every accusation is a false one by default, which seems to be the position of the MRM. All accusations are false until proven otherwise; which is not the same position as ‘innocent until proven guilty’.
It’s totally possible that he’s being set-up, or this woman is making a false accusation. However there isn’t any reason to believe that is so absolutely certain if you aren’t either in DSK’s political camp or the MRMs.
Sites like this are one of the last refuges for non-PC truth-telling, and the message is spreading. Linkage is an example of this.

I might be talking out of my hat, but if Laura Wood is a white supremicist chick, she might suspect that a man named “Strauss” who works in banking is jewish.
For me, the real value of TS is that it is the polar opposite of the feminist position. Most of the original founders of the MRM were old men who got burned. If they are angry, they are justified in feeling that way. Divorce tends to turn a man’s life upside down. It is easy to be objective when one has nothing at stake.

I doubt it is this simple in this case, though it is no doubt true in the other cases you mentioned.
Much smarter and more knowledgeable people than me, who know of the machinations of TPTB, have indicated this was a direct notice to DSK, and secondarily, to those who run in the same circle, that free-styling and personal interests above those of the controlling group(who are hunkering down and consolidating), will not be tolerated at this important time. There are no irreplaceable men.

I don’t think so – I used to read Wood regularly and while she has a definite Kinist bias, she has the same mentality toward Jews as her mentor, Lawrence Auster. Auster is a Jew-turned-Episcopalian who flings around accusations of anti-Semitism like confetti at a parade, and the two of them are very close.
It’s far simpler – her defense of Strauss-Kahn’s accuser is based in the age-old prejudice of Women Don’t Lie About Rape (Especially White Women).

I have to tell you I was VERY disappointed with LW”s thoughts on DSK’s accusation. Though he may be a socialist bankster, he is entitled to the presumption of innocence; he doesn’t deserve to have his life IRREPARABLY damaged by the mere accusation of a woman.
Remember that Laura Wood actually has regular male commenters who openly say that men being jailed on false rape charges is merely a ‘cost of doing business’ given how much men have ‘oppressed’ women in the past.

Good article. But I don’t get why people pay attention to Laura Wood.
I almost never read Laura Wood but read Lawrence Auster daily. With Auster, I am willing to keep the good and ignore the bad. In his case, the good is his indispensible artuculation of first principles. The bad is his stubborn ignorance of contemporary sexual realities that affect young men.
In a way, my approach to Auster is similar to my approach to Camille Paglia: she’s great (if noth something of a spent force) on feminism but ridiculous with her celebrations of multiculturalism.
As wiht Auster, so wiht Laura Wood, is my instinct. She may be operating under feminist impulses, but they are forgivable, because it seems to me they come from a degree of intellecutal laziness, not from examined principles. On occasion, her writing can be sublime. For example some years ago she wrote about recognizing a familiar face in the crowd, and extrapolated on kinship in general.
