I think all men – everywhere – should apologize for what out gender has done. An apology is rooted in the original meanings of the word–to give an account, to acknowledge with regret, to express sorrow for present or past actions. A genuine apology never shames or blames either person, nor does it deny either person’s right to take full responsibility for the actions.

The males who have made feminism a career, like these guys, are probably lost causes. They are getting enough positive reinforcement from another group to outweigh the negative criticism they expect from men. In fact, criticism probably makes them feel brave, and reinforces their belief system.
I think it’s OK to shame these guys (I am not anti-shaming as many MRA types are; masculinity is exclusive and hierarchical) as effeminate and identify them as enemies. They’ve picked a team, and they are actively promoting an ideology as “experts.”
However, that said…your point makes sense when it comes to “non-professional” male feminists. Especially those for whom feminism is a default position. I have some experience with turning guys around, but you can only turn them around so far–especially when they are older. You get someone in their 40s and show them a life, and they end up with a lifetime of regrets, and it drives them nuts. You get someone in his 20s, though, for whom feminism was an experimental or default position, and you can really bring the man out of the femi-man.
