In Mala Fide 3.0 launches on Monday, March 7th, and here’s how you can be a part of it

Bigger! Sexier! More offensive! Mark your calendars and cancel all your plans, because In Mala Fide is getting an upgrade. Two Mondays from now, little will change about this site, and yet everything will change.

Let me explain. I started blogging in the summer of ’09 both out of a necessity for unfettered free expression (i.e. the need to get rid of my mental blue balls) and general dissatisfaction with my job and life. This site is the lovechild of iconoclasm and ennui, midwifed by the New York State Department of Civil Service. I imagined getting an online following, but I never imagined going this far.

Now, in February of 2011, I’m further removed from the world that spawned In Mala Fide than I thought possible. I work at a job I can tolerate, I live in a pleasant city, I’ve reunited with old friends. And roughly around the same time I quit my old job, I started up a beg-a-thon to pay for much-needed site upgrades, including a new theme and a private server. I haven’t lost the urge to blog – far from it. But this site can’t just be a place where I can vent my frustration with the idiocy of the world any more.

Alte left this comment a month ago that made me think:

FB,

I think you’re missing the main point O is making — which is admittedly a bit difficult to dig out from all of the verbiage he hid it under again. The pet-peeves and the race-baiting also clouds the point, of course. And maybe I’m just projecting, but here’s how I see it. The main point is a rhetorical one, particularly concerning non-Game posts.

There are parts of the Manosphere that seem most interested in judicial rhetoric; the past tense. Roissy would be a good example of this, as would some of the traditionalist stuff (TTH). Most of their writing focuses on discovering how “women/minorities/so-cons/liberals/whatever are at fault for everything evil in the world”. The lack of self-awareness and pragmatism at such places is astounding. Such rhetoric is good for assigning blame, feeling self-righteous, and building anger, but if it isn’t followed up by anything constructive, then it’s just navel-gazing. (Yes, I know O isn’t particularly self-aware either, but the evaluation is still accurate.)

There are parts of the Manosphere that seem most interested in ceremonial rhetoric; the present tense. Your blog and Chuck’s (and ironically, Obsidian’s) would be good examples of this. Most of the writing focuses less on assigning blame, and more on taking cracks at other people, picking fights with whomever you think is the Biggest Loser of the moment (like this post), and promoting yourself as a special snowflake who is beholden to no one. It’s a one-trick pony, but it appears to be satisfying for some of your readership, and I admit that I also find it entertaining. People like ceremonial rhetoric because it strengthens group cohesion, and reassures them that what they are and are doing is “okay”. That’s why sarcasm and snark are such nerdy traits; people who get picked on a lot tend to adopt them (yes, I know I’m very sarcastic myself).

And then there are parts of the Manosphere that seem most interested in political rhetoric; the future tense. Not just the immediate future, but the mid to long-term future. The better writing at the Spearhead, Hawaiian Libertarian, Susan Walsh, Paul Elam, TFH, Oz, Hestia, etc. tends to be solution-oriented and/or consensus-building. Political rhetoric is considered the most noble form of writing because it’s the speech of leadership.

I know you guys don’t like to think of yourselves as leaders because leadership is a burden, and your lives are a testament to the fact that you’re not too keen on shouldering responsibility, but leaders aren’t defined by self-declaration. Leaders are defined by the fact that they’re followed.

People are following you, FB. They read what you write, digest it, and then run around the interwebs quoting you, as if you were the Voice of God. They debate you, they fight about you, and they see you as emblematic of a movement and a philosophy.

Why do you think I freaked out about the whole Assange-thing? Because people listen to you, and they imitate you. If you do something like that, it gives them a sense of license to do the same. You’re not “just some blogger” anymore, so it’s ridiculous to claim to be one. I used to say the same thing about myself, and cut and run every time I noticed that people were starting to care about what I say, but at some point you just have to give up and admit. People read your shit, FB, and they take it seriously. So, maybe you should start taking it seriously too, and upgrade to more political rhetoric.

If there is one thing that characterizes our present time — and makes the coming crises most terrifying — it is the leadership vacuum we live in. Especially for young people, the current crop of popular politicians is a non-starter. People are looking for leaders, they’re considering you, and maybe… just maybe… you could take that to heart, and write about stuff that actually matters. You delve into it sometimes, but then you drop it and start messing around again. I’m trying to do more of it, too, and spend less time whining and picking fights with people.

I know that was a very long-winded comment, but I assume it’s appropriate, as it comes below a long-winded post about a long-winded post.

She’s right. For better or for worse, I’m in this thing for the duration. I should be doing more with it than being an irate jackass.

Therefore, I’ve decided to take the next step. In Mala Fide 1.0 was the now defunct WordPress.com blog I wrote from July to November of 2009, and this site is In Mala Fide 2.0 – In Mala Fide 3.0 will be a group blog/magazine. Unlike more narrowly focused and tamer sites like The Spearhead or Alternative Right, the sort of content I want to publish here will run the gamut from political and economic analysis to self-improvement advice (game and whatnot) and other things – an all-access stop for crimethink, amusement and vulgarity. By pooling the talents of multiple writers on a single site, we’ll have a much greater impact than on individual blogs.

My installation of WordPress Multisite, as I mentioned a couple weeks back, was part of this expansion. Unfortunately, Multisite broke so many things on my existing blog that I was forced to remove it. My only option for getting it working properly is to reinstall the blog completely. I’ve been working on a local server replica of In Mala Fide for the past few weeks and will be finishing and putting it online over the next week. I’ll also need that time to test the Multisite feature and the other tweaks I’ll be making (such as rebuilding the blogroll, which I had to temporarily remove in order to prepare for the reinstallation), so aside from the regularly scheduled LIGFY post on Sunday, I won’t be able to post. My other blog, Retrotic, will continue to be updated in the meantime.

Here’s the deal. If you’re interested in becoming a contributor to In Mala Fide, either by writing front-page articles or on an IMF-hosted blog, I’ll hook you up with an account. You can write about anything you want, be it feminism or game or white nationalism or HBD or economics or Christian patriarchy or stuff from other venues – whatever you like, as often as you like, from whatever perspective you like. You retain all rights to your work – do what you want with it. The only things you CAN’T post are porno pictures (though you can link to them) and blatantly illegal content (no copyright infringement, for example). You won’t be getting paid, unfortunately – what minuscule revenue I get from this thing goes towards my server costs, which are presently $50 a month on top of my existing hosting plan – but you’ll get the benefit of having your work published in a highly-read venue, free of the censorship of Blogger or WordPress.com. I also will never sell you out to anyone for any amount of money.

If you’re interested, get in touch by emailing me, leaving a comment on this post or private messaging me on Facebook. If you do either of the latter, leave me an email address I can hit you up at. After I’ve finished rebuilding the site and making sure everything works, I’ll touch base with you.

Everyone else, remember March 7th. If you’re reading this via RSS, you may have to resubscribe when the new site goes live, so keep that in mind. Here’s to continued asskickery.

UPDATE: I should have mentioned this before, but if you’re going to leave your email in the comments, SPAMPROOF it so you don’t get flooded with Viagra junk mail. Write your address like this: fbardamu [at] inmalafide [dot] com.

I smell revolution.

Sure, I’m interested.

Just want to mention Youtuber pinegrove33′s Bernard Chapin as another light of inspiration in the fight against fems/progs. He’s a brave face against a powerful enemy.

I wonder if you considered second-tier submissions in the sense that there are many out there who may not have the deep insight to write a complete article, but who’s past comments definitely indicate a high level of understanding of one issue or another. How about, like with Cracked.com, you have a sidebar topics list that solicits writing by the public? That way, you would find someone who’s experience/knowledge of that topic would result in their contributing.

[That would be difficult to implement on Wordpress, considering my novice skills at programming. I do have something in mind along those lines though... - ed.]

As for me, I think I would have a few paragraphs to discuss how “lack of ownership” in current business/corporate/bureaucratic’ environments has resulted in major disillusionment/dropping-out by the talented men. How the PC/feminist-dominated work culture gives these men the feeling they are not active participants in the organization’s success, but rather props.

Your movement won’t go far if you continue to wallow in the cesspits of nihilism, Ferdinand.

4 Lovekraft February 25, 2011 at 7:11 am

@ Smeagol:

there are many ways to skin a cat, and just because Ferdinand’s approach appears ‘nihilistic’ doesn’t mean his impact won’t be felt.

Sounds like a lot of fun. I’m glad that with so many bloggers dropping like flies, one of my favorites (you) is here for the long haul. I do hope you’ll keep writing lots of articles yourself.

12 Escarondito February 25, 2011 at 9:53 am

I would love to help out. I would primarily like to focus on Film, TV, entertainment, and the issues that deal with gender and POC in and around them. Don’t worry it won’t simply be we need more color at the Oscars. I also want to speak about things that really bother me like the fact that every single man in every commercial is an idiot or being placed in positions where the woman has the upper-hand. And issues of that nature are regardless of color.

13 Gx1080 February 25, 2011 at 10:08 am

@Escarondito
In a recent year, I remember that the “Best Actor” award was a contest between a Jew who played a Nazi in a movie and……the bitch of Precious. I simply cannot make this shit up.

14 Escarondito February 25, 2011 at 10:20 am

Ahh Christoph as Hanz. I didn’t even think he was that good but hype might’ve biased me. I actually hate precious. As most Academy winners, hence voters, are white, precious was nominated because it was a poo-poo platter of isn’t this girl worthless? She was fat, ugly, stupid, black, with child, and already had a retarded one, lived with a vial mother, twice impregnated rape-victim, and I could go one more but I know you have gotten the point. White folk could find it inspiring because it made them think, “without that effecting her, look how she pushes on. And I complain about my life?”. Wait, stop the noise. Did they not see the part, you know the first 30 minutes, where it’s shown that the welfare state has helped placed her in this position? Well then, perhaps they should place their white guilt elsewhere.

15 Matt Parrott February 25, 2011 at 10:22 am

Escarondito,

You shouldn’t shy away from the racial issue. I, for one, would enjoy reading (and perhaps bickering with) an intelligent Black guy’s take on race and popular culture that hasn’t been passed through the mainstream media’s political correctness filter.

16 Escarondito February 25, 2011 at 11:04 am

@Matt Parrot

Don’t forget the part where I said this, “Don’t worry it won’t simply be”. I was actually going to post on my own blog about the Pepsi Max commercial yet everyone and their grandma has gotten their heads wild about that. But I do have another post that I wish to drop on my Women in Film: Part 2 on my blog bi-perspective.blogspot.com

17 Matt Parrott February 25, 2011 at 11:17 am

@Escarondito,

Good deal. I don’t know what my WN colleagues are seeing when they watch that commercial. It managed to, within a few seconds, perpetuate the stereotypes of Black people of being physically aggressive, Black women of being domineering, and of Black women being threatened by White female attractiveness.

It’s the media’s single biggest insult to Black people since their assertion that Precious is emblematic of Black female beauty. I’m not inclined to be sympathetic with how Blacks are depicted in the media, but that was a cringe-inducing low blow.

18 Mike T February 25, 2011 at 1:56 pm

Two things:

1) I don’t remember if you got a dedicated server at your host, but get one if this is the route you’re going. Web hosts are less amicable to complaining asshats who want to shut down a guy who has a $100-$200/month server in their office since it’s worth 10-30 shared user accounts.

2) DO NOT PUT RETROIC ON THE SAME ACCOUNT PERIOD!!!

Read up on DMCA takedown notices if you haven’t already. Specifically, search out on how they’re abused. Retroic is… not exactly in compliance with copyright law. You need to protect your main blog if you decide to go this route.

Told you so!

http://ca.gawker.com/5769037/the-craigslist-congressman-and-the-crossdressing-prostitute

In the past 10 days, two D.C.-area transgender women contacted us, each with a separate story about exchanging emails with the ex-congressman. One sent us an ad that Lee allegedly posted on Craigslist in search of trans women; the other sent us a never-before-seen photo that she says Lee sent her after they started chatting by email. Taken together, they present a possible explanation to those who have wondered why such a tame “sex scandal” forced Lee’s hand so quickly.

23 Paul Elam February 25, 2011 at 5:56 pm

The Spearhead, tame?

This I gotta see!

24 Gx1080 February 25, 2011 at 6:47 pm

I think that Precious is a sick movie about glorification of human depravity. Is basically snuff porn.

25 Amanda February 25, 2011 at 6:55 pm

You’ve called me the token feminist of the manosphere before. I’m tempted to write up articles on ways that feminism has advanced men’s rights and submit them to you for kicks, but I don’t know if I have the time.

27 OneSTDV February 25, 2011 at 11:11 pm

Honestly, I don’t like the new vision. Obviously that’s not going to change your plans, but just voicing my opinion.

You’re being way too open with this new site – basically just a free-for-all of content and writers. Political and social movements need coherency and a basically agreed upon value system. Not just a bunch of people who share a smattering of ideas, but diverge completely on some of the most basic topics.

I don’t understand why’d you give a platform to anyone who wants it (yes I have one particular person in mind). I say keep this site for you and you alone (give or take occasional guest bloggers).

28 Pat Hannagan February 25, 2011 at 11:22 pm

Sounds great Ferds. I’ve been enjoying your various posters of late and reckon if the new blog continues in that vein you’ll be on a winner for sure, as you already are.

Not sure about Alte’s leadership/role model thing though. True change and restoration of order or revolution will only occur through face to face activity. Though, that being said, these blogs and “new media” do coalesce like minds and offer alternative interpretations to MSM indoctrination.

If you ever need crazed song lyric quotations, streams of abuse, video clips, torrents of obscenities, tinged with old style Catholic moralistic castigation and hypocrisy all interspersed with drunken ramblings and ravings then I’m your man.

29 Pat Hannagan February 25, 2011 at 11:34 pm

OneSTDV has a point though. The new format definitely needs to be stamped with your imprimatur.

But, I like and find it admirable what you are trying to achieve. The more voices the better, so long as it doesn’t turn into a cacophony.

Your constant refrain of acting in mala fide, premised on the fact that our laws/order/system we are supposed to respect actually disrespects and disinters the native from his rightful inheritance, requires constant reiteration and direction. The ultimate being to restore order so that we may act bona fide.

I take it that is your point, that we are acting in “good faith” by acting in “bad faith”.

30 Obsidian February 26, 2011 at 4:54 am

Unlike others, Ferd actually values the notion of freedom of speech and a marketplace of ideas; it’s what seperates him from the pretenders in this here blogging game:

Based on the comments thus far, it’s clear this will be a very interesting thing to watch. I look forward to it, and I give you a ton of credit. I know exactly how much hard work goes into the technical side alone.

True dat. And he can criticize the actions of women without being a misogynist, which is apparently a rare trait.

I’ll stop sucking up now.

33 J. DeVoy February 26, 2011 at 7:11 pm

I second Mike T’s comment – get familiar with the DMCA. It doesn’t take a lot to be compliant, but can save a lot of hassle and expense down the road.

I’ve been a daily reader since the beginning (or close to it) and look forward to seeing your new vision come to fruition. Good luck.

34 Alte February 26, 2011 at 7:11 pm

Hey Susan,
When are we going to finally call a truce?

35 Pat Hannagan February 26, 2011 at 10:06 pm

Nothing wrong with a mild form of misogyny Alte. Disdain perhaps, rather than hatred, is the natural and appropriate mode for men it seems to me.

Why any man would seek the company of a woman without the prospect of marriage and children is beyond my comprehension. On the same score, whilst I can understand so called Gamers wanting unlimited sex with many women it strikes me as no better than seeking endlessly after prostitutes. Worse, Gamers actually engage in conversation with women, something I find is flawed at the outset if one seeks a reasoned discourse.

This is no slight on you of course Alte, but that I cannot understand why men seek out women for company, nor women men. There’s nothing more mind numbing than sitting with a table full of women.

Since the so called “liberation” of women one would have expected a revolution in terms of scientific and intellectual output in society, accepting the feminist premise that women have been held back for centuries. Instead we have the unmitigated idiocy of our present age. That is evidence enough for me that women have been controlled and excluded from the company of men by any civilisation. I can’t think of one “great” and revolutionary change in society that women have produced since liberation. All I see is endless bitching and post doctoral thesis of said bitching in a tiresome academise devoid of inspired thought.

Anyway.

36 Pat Hannagan February 26, 2011 at 10:07 pm

Correction: “That is evidence enough for me that women have been controlled and excluded from the company of men by any civilisation for very good reasons.

39 Brett Stevens March 5, 2011 at 11:58 am

We can’t get far without nihilism. Nihilism is just an intense form of realism. From there, we can invent preferential ideas, but we have escaped the chains of demanding a linear reason to be alive from life itself.
