In Mala Fide blacklisted by Google AdSense

“What took you so long?” is the reply that came to mind when I read this email last night:

Hello,

While reviewing your account, we noticed that you are currently displaying Google ads in a manner that is not compliant with our policies. For instance, we found violations of AdSense policies on pages such as http://www.inmalafide.com/2010/10/03/linkage-is-good-for-you-sepia-edition/. Please note that this URL is an example and that the same violations may exist on other pages of your website.

As stated in our program policies, AdSense publishers are not permitted to place Google ads on pages with adult or mature content. In addition to photos and videos which contain nudity or sexual activities, below are some other examples of unacceptable content:

* Lewd or provocative images

* Crude or indecent language, including adult stories

* Sexual tips or advice

* Sexual fetish sites (e.g. foot fetish content)

* Adult toys or products

* Ads or links to external sites containing adult content

* Adult links and/or adult keywords within the meta data in the source code of your site

As a result, we have disabled ad serving to the site.

Your AdSense account remains active. However, we strongly suggest that you take the time to review our program policies (https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/answer.py?answer=48182&stc=aspe-2pp-en) to ensure that all of your remaining pages are in compliance.

Please note that we may disable your account if further violations are found in the future.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team

I’m guessing the lead-off link in that list, a provocatively titled post by Rivelino, was what set them off.

Unlike Half Sigma, I’m not going to cry political persecution. After all, I’ve basically been wiping my ass with AdSense’s Terms of Service ever since I started posting nude pictures back in June (even though I deleted them all last week), so I figured it was just a matter of time. Still, this chaps my ass. While I can eat the costs of hosting this site just fine, I’ve been making enough money off of In Mala Fide to pay off my hosting bill and then some. I won’t be getting rich or quitting my job anytime soon, but a bit of spare change never hurt. AdSense accounts for over three-quarters of this blog’s income – a pretty big hole to fill.

I might appeal their decision, but short of deleting everything on the blog, there’s no way I’m going to pass AdSense’s content guidelines (namely, the “racial intolerance” and “profanity” guidelines) on a thorough review. I’m looking at some other ad networks to replace AdSense. Stay tuned, and if you have any suggestions for alternate ways to make money with In Mala Fide, feel free to chime in.

I don’t think google like non-commercial free speech.

You do have to wonder though, isn’t free speech MEANT to be offensive to somebody.

Isn’t that why it is called “free speech”?

I am just starting to look into monetizing my blog… Though it seems like I might violate some of the policies, including “advice on sex.”

All hosters have weasel words to punish anyone saying things that might bring Genghis Khan’s lawyer hordes on their heads.

Larry and Sergey,

Modern American men, raised on Peter Cetera and Say Anything, need to know that modern American girls, raised on Helen Gurley Brown and Sex and the City, that they enjoy being choked out and fucked in the ass.

It’s for the good of our country. More hardcore sex, less divorce, less violent crimes. Aside from the anal sex, that is.

Cheers,
R

“Do no evil” would lead me to think they have bigger fish to fry.

Sign up to CPA network like Neverblue and Offervault where you can find offers and earn $3 or more for every user who submits his email, or cellphone# or even zipcode to an advertiser with a very flashy attention-grabbing signup page known as a splash page.

I don’t know shit about blogging, so this might be dumb, but couldn’t you host porn ads etc instead?

That’s one of those things I always wondered how well they policed that shit. In almost seems like maybe somebody had to tell on you?

There’s always prostitution.

“What took you so long?” came to mind for me too. When I put AdSense on my blog, I don’t think it lasted 2 weeks. Advocate any sort of HBD-ish view, and you’ve automatically violated their proscriptions against “racial intolerance.” Like Willy Wonka, I also think they don’t have time to monitor blogs and that if you get pulled, it’s because somebody “reported” you.
