This is the most awesome thing you will see today. Everything about this anti-Obama agitprop piece is perfect. The staging is stylish. The lyrics are catchy. And most importantly, the people in it look COOL (though I’m still wondering why that one guy is dressed like a pirate). Even the fat birther at the end, a guy you’d write off as a weirdo in real life, comes off as a badass. Oh, and I would love to bang the chick with the bangs. Hey libertarians, are you taking notes?
This rap song is a perfect example of what conservatives need to focus on – making themselves look cool and making Obama and the liberals look like losers. If the guys who put this thing together were the public face of the Tea Party Movement, instead of that retarded Alaskan hick and that screaming, crying, gibbering lunatic (who is now indirectly responsible for the best talk radio host in the Capital District losing his job – fuck you, Chuck Custer), the Tea Partiers might actually get somewhere.

Holy cow, that Glenn Beck clip was ridiculous. I never listen to talk radio and had never really heard him before–is he always like that?
I’ve read online posts from leftists complaining about popular right-wiing talking heads being “screamers,” and I always thought they were being disingenuous; now I see they’re telling the truth. If there’s one thing I hate, it’s being in a gathering of leftists who are denouncing right-wingers: one can say virtually nothing, as there’s very little that’s defensible about the mainstream right.
No white guy (or woman) as far to the left as Obama is (most leftist voting record in the Senate) would ever have been nominated or elected, even in the face of the great recession.
He was due to decades of propaganda re: blacks. Induced guilt / desire to prove ourselves “pure” (anti-racist), the great induced moral imperative of our time. It has power in part because essentially everyone knows deep inside, even when not admitted more on the surface, that blacks are on average less intelligent and more violent/criminal than any other large geographic race. So come up with an in-arguably smart and well educated black man, never mind how little his political track record and experience, and the intelligencia and young people (the most unreservedly propagandized generation) and of course mainstream liberal media all go ga ga. Having virtually no hard bitten criticism during the campaign for his far leftist record wouldn’t have happened otherwise.

Hillary Clinton would have won the election, and her Senate voting record on domestic issues was virtually identical to Obama’s. Hillary was slightly more hawkish on foreign policy.

But wasn’t it Obama who said he’d bomb terrorists inside Pakistan without warning, whereas Hillary balked at the idea? It’s hard to say which one is more hawkish than the other, especially when you include the fact that neither of them actually meant anything they were saying.

Not really. Most of the time his voice is on a low, on-the-edge-of-insanity monotone. Even still, listening to his show is like slipping into a parallel universe where up is down, left is right, and 2 +2 = 5.
I liked Glenn Beck way back when he was just a semi-obscure, lighthearted radio host. I actually went to one of his stand-up shows when he came to Syracuse one year. Then he got a TV show and he suddenly decided that he was on a mission from God to spread the gospel of conservatism across America. Never trust a man who compares himself to Howard Beale non-ironically.
The only real “screamers” are Beck, Michael Savage (who will probably be retiring in the next couple of years), and Mark Levin (who’s a fifth-rate clone of Savage).
I don’t see whats so bad about yelling, it’s conservative passion and frustration with a suicidal elite. And when one voices that passion or expresses obvious insight (“obama is a racist”), one is dismissed as a nutcase.
I understand the frustration and with extroverts like Savage and Beck, they have a difficult time modulating their emotions.

What really sent him over the edge was the caller attacking a strawmen and attributing viewpoints to him that he doesn’t hold. She assumed that he held opinions that she glibly associates with the right, yet the caller was completely wrong about Beck specifically.
That can get very annoying, very quickly (know this from personal experience).

I don’t have a problem with yelling either, it’s INSANE yelling that is problematic. When your response to a annoying caller on your radio show is to yell “GET OFF MY PHONE!!!” repeatedly, at the top of your lungs, you sound like a fucking maniac. Combine that with Beck’s mental instability (just Google clips of his TV show) and he gives the left ammunition. It wouldn’t surprise me if one of these days his wife will find him in their bedroom with a gun barrel in his mouth and his brains splattered all over the wall.
