'Curvy' and 'fat' are not synonyms

by Ferdinand Bardamu on August 1, 2009

in Decline

There are some women out there (hat tip: Lemmonex) who are under the delusion that ‘curvy’ and ‘fat’ mean the same thing. This is a favorite semantic game of she-porkers seeking to justify their poor impulse control. On behalf of actual curvy women, I would like to speak truth to power on this issue, and show that there is a difference between the two.

Curvy:

Fat:

Curvy:

Fat:

Curvy:

Fat:

I hope this post has been illuminating.

UPDATE: Lemmonex asked me to take her pictures down, so I complied.

IMF,

Curvy to me is Marilyn Monroe, Sophia Loren, or Jayne Mansfield; they were real women with real meat on their bodies, and they had it in the RIGHT PLACES! Unfortunately, these women wouldn’t be able to get jobs in Hollywood if they were breaking into showbiz today. Why? Because they’d be considered fat (Marilyn Monroe was a size 14)! WTF is up with that?! I’ll take a real woman like these any day of the week, thank you very much!

Sorry, but skinny chicks don’t do normally do it for me. Jennifer Aniston might be cute and all, but she’s NOT a real woman; I’m sorry, but she’s not. Shoot, give her a hug, and she’ll go Rice Crispies on you-snap, crackle, and pop! The same applies to Calista Flockhart (Ally McBeal) and other modern actresses.

Fat #s 1, 3, and 4 are within acceptability limits for a large number of men (including me). With about 50 lbs less of her, #1 would be a solid 8-9, because she’s got the right body foundation.

#2 is irredemable.

There is a very special corner of hell for people like you.

… a corner some women won’t fit into.

Well those comments were amusing.

Are they objecting to including Lemmonex’s photos or the point of the post (that fat women are fat, not “curvy”)? I imagine it’s both.

The fat acceptance movement has got to be one of the funniest identity politics schemes I’ve ever seen. And all these fat biznatches complaining about “discrimination”. Well of course your company sticks you on the phone or in the back where no one can see you. Having some fat slob at the front counter is not only offputting from an aesthetic perspective, but it reflects poorly on the company’s image.

“IMF,”

It’s Ferdinand Bardamu, actually.

“Shoot, give her a hug, and she’ll go Rice Crispies on you-snap, crackle, and pop!”

Heh, that’s a good one, dude.

I love how they automatically assumed that I was attacking Lemmonex, despite the fact that she’s on my blogroll. Haters, they know not what they speak against…

The women you posted are not “curvy”. They are skinny with big boobs. However, notice their narrow, masculine hips (usually means flat booty).

Real curvy would be like someone mentioned above – Sophia Loren, Marilyn Monroe, Beyonce (before and after, NOT DURING, the movie DREAMGIRLS), Mariah Carey, Jordin Sparks, Anna Nicole Smith (when she posed for Playboy), and any of the models in KING magazine.

#2 Monica Bellucci: best piece of italian ass currently….

#3 Kim KArdashian: I’d tap that ass but I would have to tape her mouth due to all the nonsense she spews……

No man suffers from the delusion that those are the same. Only delusional women. Hopefully they all take a look here and get straight. Also suspect are the terms “big-boned, thick, and voluptuous.”

AD,
Sorry my Man, but big boned, voluptuous and thick are real terms applied to real people. Personally, I’d tear Lizzie Miller, Toccara, Anna Nicole Smith and Serena Williams up. They’re my preferred idea of what a Woman should look like.

I really don’t see what the problem is here. If big gals ain’t your thing, don’t date em. Problem solved. If there aren’t enough slim gals where you live, move to where they are. All this whining and moaning about the matter isn’t an Alpha approach at all-its essentially a Beta one, at best.

Remember fellas, Game gives you options. And only guys with few to none complain about things like this.

-Black Military Man

Black men need to stop making Beyonce the posterchild for Black curvy women. If you mentioned Melissa Ford , then you would have set a BETTER example. Beyonce has hips ONLY. She has no breasts and no @ss. In fact, this woman wears butt pads. There are many curvy Brazilian women of African descent that have breasts, @ss, and hips, and have NO FAT TENDENCIES. There is no such thing as a skinny woman with big boobs, hips or @ss. If she has assets, then she’s curvy, point blank!

This is why many fat Black women who are obese have managed to convince themselves that they are sexy! Because of men like you who encourage the unnecessary pounds! If you prefer fat women, more power to you. But please don’t confuse fatness with curves….Fat women will be misguided.

The only people who equate being curvy with being overweight are fat women in denial. No man finds a big gut hanging over the waistband of a woman’s panties attractive. If a fat woman wants to get compliments from men (as opposed to fat “positive” female bloggers), she needs to find the gumption to lose weight.

@markymark No no no no no.

http://www.snopes.com/movies/actors/mmdress.asp

Marilyn Monroe was never a fucking size 14. in todays sizing ranges, at her largest, she was a size 10. normally a size 8. she was curvy as all hell, but a tiny woman.

the myth of her being a large size is propagated by the “i don’t want to be bothered to work on my body, so instead i am going to demand of other people that they agree my body is beautiful.”

the whole ” i just can’t lose weight, it’s genetic” is also bullshit. actual medical conditions that prevent people from maintaining a healthy weight is vanishingly small. of Americans that are obese, less than 3% have a medical condition to blame. everyone else simply takes in too many calories, burns off too few, and doesn’t exercise. it can be degrees of hardship to burn calories person to person, which is a matter of how hard is an individual willing to work to maintain their weight.

people, do what you want with your life and your body, but own it. if you don’t like how you look, change it. if your issue is you don’t like people not liking how you look, deal with it. do not attempt to force others to conform to your view to excuse yourself from taking care of your body.

everyone else simply takes in too many calories, burns off too few, and doesn’t exercise.

Take away the “simply”. It does matter what kind of calories you take in. Remove sugar, grains, and industrial seed oils from your diet, eat real food, go lowish carb, don’t be a glutton, and exercise. In that order.
