Extremely incisive and incredibly foolish: the strange case of Roissy in DC
“All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.”
Arthur Schopenhauer
According to Google Analytics, DreamHost’s bandwidth measurements, and WordPress’ internal stats, hundreds of you downloaded the Roissy in DC archives I posted earlier this week. They’re gone from this blog, never to return, but I wouldn’t be too surprised if I see them on a torrent site or elsewhere on the Internet. Information can’t want to be free, but people sure want it to be.
Because everyone else is talking about the Roissy/Lady Raine brouhaha, because Roissy himself has returned from the dead, and because my name is now being bandied about at her blog (I am apparently an “extremely unpleasant misogynist dickhead” who provides “cult-like mantras” [hi Justin!] and is “frustrated and confused,” as well as being a “psycho” who “hate[s] all women”), I might as well conform. This is the first and last time I’ll ever devote so many words to blogosphere politics, so enjoy it.
I can sum up my opinion on the affair with one sentence:
Roissy was a fucking idiot.
Roissy was an idiot for giving out his real name to an internationally read newspaper. Everyone knows that he was interviewed in a newspaper article in October of 2008, but I found out that that was actually the SECOND time he gave his name to the press. The FIRST time was for an article published in July of that same year for that same paper. I’m serious. Per my comment policy, I’m not linking to the piece (or allowing any links in the comments), but search around and you’ll find it. Essentially, he let his arrogance get the better of him twice, and his real name had been in circulation for almost a year-and-a-half before Lady Raine’s exposé.
Roissy was an idiot for letting Lady Raine run wild on his blog. I’ve only been blogging and commenting for half-a-year, but I’ve been reading Roissy and his commenters for close to two. Unlike most people in this ‘sphere, I’ve never paid any attention to Lady Raine. I don’t read or link to her blog – and coming from me, that’s saying something. I think I once made an offhand remark to her, but that’s it.
Women of Lady Raine’s type are as common as pigeon shit on windshields in the lands I inhabit. There are thousands, tens of thousands of Lady Raines inhabiting the post-industrial burgs of upstate New York, central Pennsylvania, rural Ohio, and the other wastelands of the rusted-out Rust Belt. I grew up knowing dozens of women exactly like the unfair Lady. They’re the white equivalent of black ghetto queens – White Ghetto Queens – and they have the same bloated egos, outrageous senses of entitlement, and mental issues. Lady Raine has an even more swollen ego than the average White Ghetto Queen because of her looks. In a big city like New York or DC, she wouldn’t turn any heads, but in places like Watertown, New York or Scranton, Pennsylvania, where two-thirds of the population is comprised of balls of butter with limbs, she’s a veritable Monica Bellucci. If you were a rural bumpkin who’d never left the county you were born in, you’d be eating out of her hand too.
Many White Ghetto Queens intentionally have kids out of wedlock as a way of coping with their low status, because having a fuck-trophy around allows them to assert power over someone else. “Maternal instinct” is a foreign concept to them – half of ‘em would sell their kids to white slavers for meth money if it was legal. (The fact that Lady Raine didn’t retaliate against Roissy until months after he’d posted and removed those pictures of her boy, instead of soon after, lends credence to this point and makes her claims ring completely hollow.) And if they have sons, they invariably screw them up for life by either under-mothering or over-mothering them, the latter in Lady Raine’s case:
My son knows that his money and his career will ALWAYS be his. I don’t believe in that hippie-liberal bullshit about children being “free to make their own choices” or “expressing themselves”. He is required to get nothing below an A in school (and thus far he and every one of my nephews and niece are straight-A students and are in “gifted” programs as well).
He is extremely intelligent and therefore I expect nothing but perfection regarding grades. Behavior is the same. My son answers “yes ma’am” and “yes sir” when speaking to an adult who is in a position of authority. He is punished severely for crying, whining, blaming, talking-back, or laziness.
I do not believe in Corporal Punishment (because children mimic what their parents do and if a parent “strikes” their child in anger, they are subsequently teaching their child to “strike out” physically when THEY are angry).
HOWEVER, I employ Military style punishments for all the children in my home. They talk back, they run laps around the house. Their grades slip, they sit in their bedrooms from the time they get home until bedtime everyday up until that “B” turns into an “A”.
There are no excuses or playing victim in my household and their never will be. I parent like a drill-sergeant. “You have to tear them down….to build them back up as men”. I believe very strongly in that and would commit murder, perjury, and anything else necessary to make sure my son is never the “victim” of a manipulative woman.
If you want to know why men raised by single mothers generally despise women, that passage above should answer your question. I’m willing to bet an oil tanker’s worth of Yuengling that that poor boy will grow up to be a full-bore misogynist, spending time in and out of jail for domestic violence charges (among other petty crimes) and constantly on the hook for child support for his many baby mommas. I’ve seen it happen to a number of my childhood friends. Boys without fathers are more likely to grow up to be violent, overemotional, woman-hating men. Remember this:
You can’t debate or argue with White Ghetto Queens – you’re best served by ignoring them. I agree with commenter freak show that certain disruptive individuals should be banned straightaway from internet forums in order to maintain the peace. Roissy chose to let her spew her bile all over his house, and now he’s paid the price.
Finally, Roissy was an idiot for failing to destroy Lady Raine properly. She was a target ripe for mocking, and Roissy fucked up his attack on her spectacularly. There’s no shortage of material you can dig up on a White Ghetto Queen that would humble her, and on top of being rude and disrespectful to him, the Lady provided whole books worth of comments that could be used to indite her. Instead, Roissy made up something about her being in a porno and posted a picture of her son. He delivered a glancing blow to a wide-open target and made himself look like the bad guy in the process.
For an example of how to properly eviscerate someone, see Roissy’s attack on Hope (which he deleted last month, interestingly enough). Regardless of how you felt about Hope, you can’t deny that Roissy’s words hurt her deeply, so deeply that she deleted her blog and vanished from this corner of the web, never to be seen again. Lady Raine, on the other hand, showed up days after she was “skewered,” uninjured, unfazed, and pissed off. Good job at hoisting yourself with your own petard, champ.
The addition of Denise Romano to this comedy clusterfuck is even better. Obsidian has done yeoman’s work in slicing and dicing her warped worldview, and I don’t have much to add to his brilliant commentaries. The fact that they’ve failed to keep Roissy down despite their huffing and puffing is a Very Good Thing for the rest of us.
As for my opinion of Roissy, I view him as an absolutely brilliant thinker and writer, one of the best alive today. I also view him as a broken human being. I’d gladly buy him a beer, but I wouldn’t let him anywhere near my little sister. Thing is, the most innovative and talented people are usually broken individuals, the more talented the more damaged. Isaac Newton was a mentally ill religious fanatic who died a virgin. Philip K. Dick was a drug-abusing nutter who spent the end of his life hallucinating that he was a Christian being persecuted in Roman times. Louis-Ferdinand Céline, the de-facto patron saint of this blog, was a Jew-fearing fascist who aligned himself with the Vichy French government and was only saved from imprisonment by his cowardice. The list goes on and on.
I don’t agree with Roissy’s sadism, namely his habit of picking on the weak and defenseless. It’s the behavior of a schoolyard bully, and I find it repugnant. I also have issues with his anti-marriage, anti-family beliefs (not so much on a practical level but a philosophical one). Does that mean I’m not allowed to recognize his genius? No, it just means that I have to put his oeuvre into perspective. You don’t have to endorse the man fully – in fact you probably shouldn’t – in order to acknowledge the strength of his words and ideas. The enduring popularity of Roissy’s blog, and the fact that a wide variety of folks, from Steveosphere and HBD bloggers to religious conservatives to MRA and MGTOW types, find value in his writings, is proof positive that he’s struck an intellectual chord. And the fact he and bloggers like myself who are influenced by his ideas catch so much flak from all angles is evidence he’s doing something right.
I don’t regard Roissy as a model that the rest of humanity should follow, but as a writer on human sexuality, he is without peer. Lady Raine, Denise Romano, and their various hangers-on have given the world nothing but lies and hate. With this post out of the way, I’m going to go back to ignoring them. You should too.
For further reading, see Sparks123′s dissection of the affair, in which he makes a number of good points.
And because I feel like posting this, here’s a video of a song your grandparents probably listened to. Happy Thursday!

“Thing is, the most innovative and talented people are usually broken individuals, the more talented the more damaged.”
I don’t think Roissy’s damaged in the same way that the other authors you cited are. I think Roissy just went a little far with his schtick. It’s very easy to harangue someone who you don’t ever see in real life. It’s also easy to forget the consequences or forsee a whammy like the one that some anonymous person emailed to Lady Raine.
I think Roissy was just having a little too much fun with her; unfortunately LR took it to the next level.
The whole affair had the dignity of a midget mud wrestling match.
Still Lady Raine won: If you can call winning a mud wrestling match a “victory”. In reality it’s a bunch of losers all round.
And in the process violated one of his own basic “alpha male rules…”
See point #1 here.

Excellent, honest observations. Also, I enjoyed the video of older music and dancing. I’m a long-time musician, and enjoy music like this (also an older guy whose parents played an enormous variety of music when I was a child). As for LR, I completely ignored her at The Spearhead–her tactics and antics were IMO pointless to even bother with. I would enjoy seeing disruptive people like that banned after it becomes obvious that their interest is in attracting attention and derailing threads, but it’s not my call.
We do have “free speech” in America. At the same time what is socially acceptable to think and say is fairly limited. The internet at the same time provides a great social safety valve- people with socially unacceptable views can air them, anonymously or not, have them confirmed by others with the same views, feel heard and validated, and be completely ignored by everyone else, including and especially the people in power.
This is why I avoid any kind of activism on the internet- it’s a shock absorber and an echo chamber.
While most politically incorrect speech on the internet will just be ignored, certain things will trigger the alarm bells of the system and get a response. Make no mistake Lady Raine is only superficially and ostensibly acting as an individual, she is really acting as a representative of the system. The system deputizes members of victim groups to enforce for it by making accusations of racism, sexism, homophobia, misogyny, blah blah blah. These accusations having been made, the legal system can go into action. Note that under Stalinism the secret police usually did not initiate investigations- individuals made denunciations, encouraged by the system, and then the accused was asked to prove he was not guilty.
Roissy was guilty of arrogance- his blog became very popular and he wanted to take public credit in his own name. If he hadn’t already been in a pissing contest with an angry feminist it might not have made much difference. But in any case you don’t have privacy on the internet. There is a trail that can be followed, even if you are very careful. If you want to go as far as Roissy did you need to have ironclad privacy, if that’s even possible.
Roissy is a very sharp guy who has fucked a lot of women. I don’t think he’s a genius. Guys who place the limitation he does on relationships with women- it is never serious, it is always temporary, never get married- make it easy because they deal with the simplest part of male-female relationships, meeting to fucking. Since for women these days sex is just a fairly early step into a serious relationship, having sex with one only means you have passed preliminary screens. Or if she’s a slut not even that.
Cynicism is the easy way out. Plenty of guys will tell you don’t get married and have kids- and it’s easy to understand why. Roissy is not a member of polite society but the fact that Lady Raine and Denise Romano are perfectly respectable members is what’s really shocking. Your quote of her child raising methods is chilling. Women are *not* better, more nurturing parents than men. If she had had the sense to have a child with a man she was married to she might be able to relax and share the harder parts of parenting, but she is a super woman of course and can do it all!
Way to hit the nail on the head. I’m a transplant now living in the Watertown area where I am convinced the majority of the population can’t count to ten without first setting down their Blue Light. You are completely correct with your description of the white ghetto queen, and Lady Rain fits the bill to a tee. Moreover I think what most people miss about her is that her sense of entitlement comes from the fact that she has a job working for a defense contractor which provides her more money than the average joe makes for her locale. She can afford to be haughty.
Cut to Roissy. When she started stinking up his comment section, he should have followed his own advice and ignored her. Ignore a crazy bitch and ‘Eventually’ she will go away. Maybe she was initially to easy a target but after a while it was easy to see that she’s certifiable and people like that just don’t get the message, kinda like the crazed horror movie villain who will just not die, until you cut off their head.
Just my two cents.
Trite and beaten to death but still an effective truism: “There’s no such thing as an accident.”
On display here. And this entire feud was (and is) nothing but an accident, a big fucking overfilled train off the tracks in India kind of accident. Why did Roissy’s little anonymity machine sputter during those interviews? Who knows.
Bloggers tend to be repressed and sheltered folks who normally aren’t accustomed (unless they are Ariana) to speaking with reporters and digital recorders. Minus that slip-up on his part this might have just become another little pissing match that would have barely registered on the blogosphere Richter scale.
If there is one rule to follow on the internet, it is this: stop feeding the trolls. And Roissy wasn’t the only fool in all this. I told this to the guys over in the comments section awhile back, but they were all boasting about how they had driven Lady Raine away from the blog.
I don’t think he’s a genius.
On a literary level he clearly is. He was also the first to connect game to a broader social analysis.
Women are *not* better, more nurturing parents than men.
On average they are, but there are many, many exceptions.
Here is a LR type who managed to get herself famous. Not without talent, but, like so many small town redneck women, just scary. Run away.
That Romano lady is all sorts of cocked up in the head. Seems really unhinged. You are spot on about LR. Really nice job on that.
All in all, I’m pretty disappointed in Roissy. He has been talking a big game for years and gets soul raped by a white trash wastoid. My new theory about him is that most of his conquests happened ages ago and he gets more bitter about it by the day. Think about it. Anytime he’s posted a pic of a girl he’s banged it is always from many years ago. That picture that LR posted with the drawings looks really different than the other picture of him that she posted. It’s pretty obvious that he’s let him self go a bit. Looks like some bad alcohol bloat as well. He’s a talented writer but he’s no longer living in the real world. I think that he flipped out about LR not because she potentially fucked with his lively hood, but because she exposed his reality. He’s not some George Clooney type perma-bachelor, he’s a 40+ year old dude with some real issues to deal with.
With all that being said, I’m glad that his blog is back.
Agree completely. He should have banned her, deleted her comments, and then ignored her. Her posts added no value in any case, except as an example of horrifying White Ghetto Queen awfulness.
Roissy has attracted so much attention for two reasons.
The first is that he is, other than Neil Strauss, the most talented writer who writes about Game. I’m not talking about the content, here, but the writing. Roissy knows how to write — he’s witty, he turns a phrase well, and he’s great at injecting his desired tone into his writing. He often over-writes, but at times I have perceived that this is done for effect. I also suspect that the blog persona “Roissy” is like one of Dotoevsky’s narrators: a character in itself, rather than a true reflection of the writer behind the narrator. And he’s had a lot of fun with that projection — you can tell in a lot of his writing that he’s had fun writing it.
The second is that he is pretty much the only Game writer who links Game together with the broader social issues, as Thursday mentions here. Most Game bloggers write as much about social issues as ESPN comments on the health care debate, but Roissy is different. Roissy has always insisted on grounding his commentaries in a broader social critique, and explaining his own connections to Game, and the role of Game, in the context of this perspective. This has attracted a ton of attention to Roissy from all sorts of places — folks who would have no interest at all about Game or would never really look at another Game blog come to Roissy because Roissy is not *just* about Game. And as a result, Roissy has become probably the biggest internet prophet of Game out there, in a relatively short period of time, in terms of the breadth of the audience he reaches.
These two points help explain what has happened. If Roissy’s blog was focused solely on technique, and his writing didn’t so skillfully reflect his own taste for sadistic pleasure, he wouldn’t have attracted the attention of people like Lady Raine, or LR’s informer. Instead, it would have been more of an underground blog that most women simply ignored. By attracting the kind of attention he did, and by being as open and witty about his own literary sadism, he did open himself up for this kind of attack.
In retrospect it’s easy to say that he should have simply banned her from the blog early on. I think he didn’t because he really did enjoy toying with her and poking at her. It fed some of his darker needs, I suspect. It didn’t help that LR’s background and story fit so well the stereotype of the kind of woman that so many of Roissy’s readership love to hate — that kind of fed the fire, I think. He probably should have simply ignored her — but I think for him she was just far too juicy a target — even more so than Hope, really, whom he more skillfully eviscerated. There is a dark side to Roissy, clearly, and he indulged it here — and got burned for doing so. That happens sometimes, and it was probably a lesson for him and a wake-up call about how blogging and so on can end up relating to reality in odd ways.
My guess is that the blog isn’t going away, but that we’ll see Roissy being more focused and perhaps less indulgent — for a time at least.
Who is “Hope” and why did Roissy hate her so much? And how did he disembowel her?
Note to aspiring bloggers: posts about Roissy are fantastic for traffic. The Ferdinand bump is usually good for 60-70 hits. I gotten more than 150 from your link to the Roissy piece.
Thanks, Ferd!
Hope was a Chinese female poster at Roissy with an interesting history. When she first posted there she was married. She subsequently divorced and then came back to the blog, presenting herself as the victim of a bad ex-husband and singing the praises of some guy she met playing World of Warcraft while at the same time taking potshots at Game and Roissy from the perspective of spiritual wholeness and stuff like that. Roissy would occasionally snipe at her.
As I remember things unfolding (others may correct me if I’m wrong here), eventually her ex-husband found his way to Roissy’s blog and started giving his version of events. Little details like her marital infidelity and so on came out. Roissy pretty much ran with this, and she popped in, if I recall it was only once, to state her case, and then shut off access to her blog (eventually deleting it, I think). Of course Roissy’s commentary on the whole thing was quite stinging as can be imagined. As Ferdinand notes, it appears that the post has been removed. The older comments made by Hope may still be there — I don’t know.
Unless he gets bored and leaves on his own, Roissy must never be silenced. Especially by a feminist academic who would like nothing better than to have him shut down. As we know they hate free speech for anyone they disagree with. He says too many truths that the make the leftists very uncomfortable. He’s vulgar and crass at times, but his ideas are important for the MRM, nevermind game. He’ll never get mainstream acceptance of course, but the more men who read blogs like his, the more they’ll come to realize how badly they’re being fooled by feminism.
I really don’t give a shit if he’s banging chicks anymore, what he says about feminism and male rights is more important.
Rod–
You are so right about Watertown. We have a summer place in the area and we see the same things you do when we go back to visit–even in the surrounding towns where you KNOW those you see are of local origin.
However, you should keep in mind that those “balls of butter” at the Salmon Run Mall are often spouses/dependents of soldiers stationed at Ft. Drum, most of whom are from similar Watertown-like places all over the country.
I don’t think it’s true that all or even most innovative and talented individuals are broken. In fact, probably the reverse, it takes a solid, grounding and decency to simply grind out, day after day, anything creative and worthwhile.
A Damien Hirst can produce “art” by slapping his name on his assistants putting a shark in a formaldyhe bottle, but a William Blake or Thomas Eakins or Winslow Turner or Fredrick Remington or Charles Russel required a middle class amiability (and often, wives who “manage them” by taking care of finances, schedules, and booze intake).
Writing like everything else is HARD.
A lot of commenters (myself included) used Lady Raine as evidence to suggest that Roissy’s theories and comments on the behavior and motivations of women were correct. I suspect her walking-talking confirmation of his writings led him to keeping her around longer than was wise.
Agreed that Roissy should never have given an interview, obviously he was angling for a book deal and I can’t blame him for that. His traffic is huge because he taps an un-filled need: that of men to understand why they are in the predicament they are in when they “do” the things that they do and end up as chumps. Not merely Game as noted but a larger social context of where life has headed in the West.
Steve Sailer links to him. Because (and you can see Sailer changing his mind about women due to Roissy’s writing) Roissy has compelling stories and data of younger women that older guys who are married just miss.
Given the rate of posting that Roissy regularly put forward, about one a day five days a week, I can’t say he’s broken. Rather, extremely productive. Having more discipline than I do for sure.
“Thing is, the most innovative and talented people are usually broken individuals, the more talented the more damaged.”
There is an element of truth to this. But this is not true 100%.
Certainly Roissy is not a model to emulate for most people. However, Roissy’s worldview works well for himself, and that it all that can be said about it.
What has been obvious to me since childhood is that an individual with a 130+ IQ is going to view the world fundamentally different than those with average cognitive ability. Their dreams and goals may be fundamentally different as well. Memes such as religion or socialism that are targeted to those of average cognitive ability may not appeal to or even make sense to a 130+ IQ individual. The promulgators of such memes need to be reminded of this from time to time.
As a 130+ IQ person, I do not consider myself to be the appropriate target market for either Christianity or liberal-left socialism. I consider memes like libertarianism and transhumanism to be much more appropriate to me. These may not necessarily be appropriate to most others. Live and let live I say.
Also, marriage and kids is not the end all for everyone. Some people live perfectly fulfilling lives not doing this at all.
We must be careful when assuming that there is a one perfect world-view and system that is relevant to everyone. There is no such thing. We are all different, with different dreams and goals, wants and desires. The notion that there is a one perfect meme or system appropriate to all humans is utterly ludicrous. There will be a multiplicity of systems and futures. The notion of the single ONE thing or system is an archaic artifact of the mid-20th century industrial age, best to be forgotten.
We are living in the age of the long tail.
How has Roissy changed Steve Sailer’s mind about women? Steve has always seemed to be happily married and tends to leave women and their peculiarities alone.

Don’t be so goddam pompous. I have a doctorate and work in a professional field and I am a serious Catholic.
There are many people like me.
Whatever validity Roissy’s commentary had was/is ultimately undermined by his moral nihilism. Anyone who, as he does, subscribes to philosophical materialism has forfeited the ability to speak normatively about material phenomena and so his words/thoughts can’t have the authority that he thinks they should or do. Ironically, Roissy is probably thought of as the anti-liberal when in fact his nihilism is really a form of relativism which is just the end product of liberalism, consistently applied. And that’s how you get to the understanding the Roissy is in reality a more principled liberal than most liberals.
He would have been far better off sticking with just the facts and leaving out the philosophy as Steve Sailer does. But I don’t think he could help himself, in my opinion he is at the very least an unbalanced individual.
Remember that even her GirlGame friends turned on Hope during that episode. This was a classic example of female nature that we study about, and probably what hurted her more than Roissy himself.
Roissy : If being outed ultimately does nothing to harm him, that is good news for all anonymous bloggers who may seek to unmask someday. If Roissy is still happily posting a year from now despite being outed, the bluff of the Gestapo left will have been called.
hopes case was interesting because she was a faker to the 9th degree.
new age… feel the love…see the light….
and then bam!! it turns out your a cheating whore.
you really cannot make this shit up folks.
also the girls at girlgame gave her the boot.
well at the very least those crystals of consciousness can relieve all the pain…or maybe not.
stay true to your ID we are all animals still. pz
Did GG officially boot Hope, or did she just drift away after receiving insufficient support from them? Any comments that people can post links for to corroborate?
She’s still listed there, but she hasn’t posted anything since November.
Was there a falling out? I missed it, if there was. Anyone know?
Clarifying some confusion on Hope:
– She was already away when roissy posted his ‘evisceration’. I suspect it was the final trigger in having no time for negativity on the Internet. I’m sure it had an effect but she seemed to shrug it off given her present happiness. I think it was more worries for anonymity than anything else.
– She has been in touch and appears very busy. As far as we know, she will be back. We have not kicked her off GirlGame. We ridiculed this in our Christmas video.
The 5th Horseman:
I won’t speak for my own behaviour. However, I will say this regarding the other women. I don’t think you’ve got it right in this instance: Women were accused of ‘identifying with the victim’ due to who they appeared to be sympathising with. Hope felt supported because she thanked the women for their support of her, privately. That collectivism should suit the ‘typical of female behaviour’ dataset just fine.
There are issues as to whether Hope bald faced lied about some key issues in her marriage that she made a great deal of hey about.
I personally think that women massively lie about these issues all the time and tend to get away with it, and so approach the issue with bias.
Declared bias.
Sailer’s posts about female journalists writing about “society should be organized so I am more attractive to Alpha men” could come straight out of Roissy.
in my opinion he is at the very least an unbalanced individual.
Kinda reminds me of another very talented guy on the net.
What’s his name? Ah yes, Larry Auster.
David,
“Don’t be so goddamn pompous. I have a doctorate and work in a professional field and I am a serious Catholic.”
“There are many people like me.”
Did I make any claim that my worldview has jurisdiction over you and all other human beings? Not at all. Yet this is precisely the claim that your worldview makes over me and all others. So, you tell me whose worldview is more arrogant and pompous.
Also, there are many high IQ people who share my worldview as well. I will bet you donuts to dollars that there are more high IQ people, particularly with technical background, who share my worldview more than yours.
As I said before, live and let live and we can all get on well with each other.
“Kinda reminds me of another very talented guy on the net.
What’s his name? Ah yes, Larry Auster.”
Say what you will about Auster but he is philosophically coherent, Roissy is not. That is, Roissy’s periodic embrace, or hijacking, of teleological concepts such as beauty, fact, myth doesn’t follow from his philosophical presuppositions and that makes it difficult to take him seriously. His sadism and amoralism, however, do follow and are what ultimately defines him.
I see the feminist/socon lobby is here. Good to see you again, Andrew. Out to get a few digs in, eh? You misandrist bastard.
over-mothering them, the latter in Lady Raine’s case:
Maybe it’s me, but a number of us in immigrant households grew up with two parent families that had strong elements of over-mothering. The whole “must get an A” in school meme was commonplace for those of us, and I remember how we’d go to forgery and blatant lying to ensure that we’d never get caught. Given the pain of being beaten by a belt that we’d receive either way for our failures, it certainly made sense to attempt a cover up.
Regardless, I’d rather have Lady Raine overmothering and attempting disciplining her kid then letting him run amok in a two-parent household.
she’s a veritable Monica Bellucci
I must admit, she’s kinda attractive to me, but my tastes are skewed toward “pretty ghetto” girls and their suburban guido chicks counterparts. I’m tempted to think that it’s a beta/omega male thing in certain males. It might be nature’s perverse way of ensuring that single mothers find stepfathers for their kids…
As for my opinion of Roissy, I view him as an absolutely brilliant thinker and writer, one of the best alive today. I also view him as a broken human being.
Presuming his tales are true, I don’t see him so much as a broken human being, but more as somebody that has escaped the guilt complex and beta penalty break mentality that keeps many men in place. He’s certain a skilled writer that at times has a dark persona, but I suspect it’s better for the world and the women that he meets that his true persona is exposed instead of it being smothered under the guise of politeness and chivalry.
Novaseeker,
What’s wrong, did I interrupt the same conversation you’ve had a thousand times with the same dozen bloggers? What’s the secret handshake?
Here’s an idea, check out thinkinghousewife.com if you want to know what traditionalists really think about contemporary male/female relations and what to do about it all. Or try OzConservative. Or not, I don’t care.
As I wrote to Roissy in my final comment on his blog (back in June): his blog proved he and his cohorts were phonies when it became The Lady Raine Show. By making her the star, he (and she) unwittingly exposed how the men on the blog were Beta instead of Alpha.
Real Alphas would have just ignored her, and she would have gone away. After all, according to Roissy, the kid disqualified her from the dating pool, right? So why did she warrant ANY attention?
I repeatedly wanred of this and am glad I stuck to my guns and refused to post or regularly read his blog after June. I didn’t predict the disaster that happened, but I knew paying her any mind would lead to something bad.
Giving his name to The Globe and Mail was stupid, but, as Whiskey said, book chance.
He tried too hard to make LR an example, she’s a fairly good example, but he let it too long dues to his ego and got burned.
Do he can live unmasked? If LOWTAX, the creator of Something Awful:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Something_Awful
Can live unmasked, so do he. Granted, this will be a bump on his search for ass, but DC is big, nights are confuse and there’s plenty of women who doesn’t know or care about who is a blogger.
High IQ is not the same as “highly educated.” In fact, it has been my experience that the biggest buffoons are the ones who have the highest IQs because they cannot admit ignorance.
I also happen to be in that high IQ territory, as my IQ is somewhere between 131 and 141.
One of the wisest men I’ve ever met was of “average intelligence.”
Has anyone explored the possibility of reporting Lady Raine to her ISP/Wordpress (or whomever hosts her blog)? Seems like a gross violation of any service provider’s privacy policy to host private information about an individual. If no one has, I’d be more than happy to look into it myself – that cunt needs to go down. Publishing private information is reprehensible and in all honesty should be punished with jail time. But ironically it just supports every opinion Roissy has about women in general – how totally incapable they are of looking past their own needs and desires and see the big picture and how someone’s life might be affected by their actions.
Mike T,
I agree with you. I also know many high IQ people and many of them are twits. In my experience, wisdom is a combination of intelligence and perspective. Perspective being another word for experience. Someone who has done many different things, everything from trying to start businesses to living in various cultures around the world is going to have greater perspective than someone who has not. It is the range of activity that defines perspective, in my experience.
Nonetheless, your comment is tangential to my original point. Different people have different worldviews, based on different experiences, dreams and goals, and cognitive abilities. It seems to be the common, flawed assumption in these kinds of blogs to assume that there is one perfect worldview or system that is suitable to everyone. I consider this is both presumptuous and flawed because we are all different. How can someone who does not know me personally say that they know what is best for me? What my personal dreams and goals should be? I think everyone would agree with me that this is presumptuous arrogant. As long as I do not cause harm to others , I should be free to live my life on my own terms.
Society can be no more than a meta-system that allows for a multiplicity of worldviews, personal choices, and futures. I think some of you need to be reminded of this from time to time.
I will end with this quote from Robert Heinlein:
“Political tags – such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth – are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire.”
Roissy’s mistake is he is a person who still obviously has a sense of shame based on how he dances around things like the white nationalist and HBD issue even when directly asked (he never comes outright and says it, he just insinuates and implies strongly) and based on how he guards his identity. He also has something to lose, a good job.
Despite this he went head on against someone who has absolutely zero sense of shame, total transparency about identity and nothing to lose. You can’t reveal anything bad about her that she hasn’t revealed first. Her name, her dysfunctional relationships, her perverted pics, her son’s pics, her stripper past, she proactively reveals every embarrassing and shameful fact about herself with no remorse or shame. That makes her different than a Hope. Hope still had a sense of shame if you look at how she lied about her marriage and was selective about the truth.
For example if LR was really in a porno, not only would she not be ashamed about having it revealed on a blog, she would have shamelessly trumpeted that fact about herself, and with pride to boot. She’d have claimed it was just one more thing that made her awesome, like she did with her stripper past.
So I can’t agree with the idea that the Hope technique would have worked with her, or any shaming technique for that matter. Only ignoring or banning could work against a shameless attention whore like LR. In a mudslinging match, all other things being equal the more shameless and transparent part will always have an overwhelming advantage.
Some of you are wondering how my recent comment relate to the subject at hand, that is, Roissy. Simple. Roissy is a very bright guy. As such, he feels that he is surrounded by idoits and realizes that the only thing he needs from these people is to get laid with hot women. So, he put his intellect to work, came up with his concept of game, and got down to business. Assuming that some of his travails are true (not made up non-sense), I not sure I can fault him at all for this.
He does have a tendency to bully people on his blog. However, at least he does not censor them, which make him way better than most other bloggers. If you have read his blog carefully over the years, you will note that he has a libertarian/conservative world view AND he is also an advocate of radical life extension (his blog links to several life extension website).
I will have to correct Tood’s impression that GG turned on Hope. We are still in contact occasionally. It was her wish that we did not comment at Roissy during the time he put out a post about her. She didn’t seem slighted by the post – more resigned. We have left Hope’s name up at the GG blog with an open invitation to return. It may fit your world view to believe women are out to hurt each other but that’s not the case here.
I was one of the few to speak out against LR when she appeared at Roissy – in fact my anger was directed at male posters not her. I couldn’t believe people were giving her the time of day – how alpha was this site really? Anyone could see that was being written about mastering women wasn’t being practiced with her. I spoke directly to isoloating her behavior – meaning ignore. I spoke out to her directly when I believed she was way to liberal with facts of her personal life and I felt lacked discretion. It pleases me to see that she still have a very large problem with me because if there’s one person I don’t want to see a connection to it is her type. I don’t really reference her as I don’t like continuing drama, never having liked soap operas and this comment will be my last on it.
And ya Ferdie you’re sooo misogynistic eh? ;)
[...] Starting from the Middle of the Story {January 16, 2010} Never *wound* the King… With regard to the whole Roissy in DC/Lady Raine dustup, I think Ferdinand Bardamu says it best: Extremely incisive and incredibly foolish. [...]

fuck you, “Lady” Raine…
I’m not being an azz when I write this so don’t be mad at me guys but what is so wrong about what she wrote on how she disciplines her son?
I’ve seen some single mothers who don’t do much disciplining their male children. It’s the female children who are made into superwomen..
I think this whole Roissy/Lady Raine bruhaha will have no impact at all. I noticed that Roissy is blogging again and that Lady Raine’s efforts to expose him and what not have had no lasting effect, what so ever.
Some people speculated on another blog that Roissy might loose his job. I think this unlikely. He works in the financial industry. Like any other industry, companies exist to make money and employees are valued on the basis of their productivity towards this end. As long as Roissy is productive in his work, his employeer has no reason to sack him. If he gets sacked for his blog, regardless of his productivity in the workplace, it means that his employers values something over employee productivity, meaning that his employer will not exist in business for long and Roissy might as well find a new job anyways.
I heard that Lady Raine and some others actually tried to get Roissy arrested by the police. I doubt that Roissy ever admitted on his blog to any criminal activity. I think the police would simply laugh at Lady Raine or Ms. Romano, pat them on the head, and send them on their way.
This whole bruhaha is silly. I think the anger directed at Roissy is silly as well. If you do not like being played by game, then don’t let yourself to be seduced by it. Game exists because people are stupid enough to be seduced (sucked into it). If you lack the personal self-control to prevent yourself from being played by game, then you deserve whatever you get. It has always been my belief since I was a teenager that life, in and of itself, demands a certain minimal level of competence and aptitude. I have no respect or tolerance for stupidity, incompetence, and ineptitude. I have no respect for a society that tolerates the existence as such as well.
I honestly believe, deep down, that Roissy’s use of game is his way of showing contempt for those who are less intelligent and competent than himself.

Chuck, you would be smart in not agitating the woman. As your name is all over the internet like a truck stop ho’s name is all over the wall in the men’s room, she can comense to screwing wit you next.
The “White Ghetto Queen”… in her own words…
“Ohhhh, I see….you’re confused. See I personally have no worries about that because no matter what I have been “charged with” legally, I have always and will always get out of anything/everything with no conviction.
“That’s something that I’m glad I have available to me. I lit a guy’s car on fire and danced around it while he watched and I got nothing. No charge, nothing. There’s tons of events like that so don’t mistakenly think that I am somehow “concerned” about the Law…..lol”

*A truly DELUSIONAL sicko!
This may be a long shot, but occasionally I wonder… could Roissy and Lady Raine be the same person?
At any rate, just read about ANYTHING the WGQ (White Ghetto Queen) writes or has to say… it just drips and oozes with hate and malice.
This is one dangerous femme fatale, one completely unbalanced female.
As I read somewhere else, I also have a very strong suspicion that we are going to see the “former” stripper “Lady” Shame”, featured on one of those reality crime shows like ‘TruTV’ or ‘Snapped’, where an evil woman goes postal on someone, sometimes even a family member.
I wonder if Law Enforcement (and, more importantly, Child Protective Services) in PA knows about this irresponsible, dangerous female, and her erratic internet postings speaking of ‘revenge’ and violence?? Seems like a really unfit parent. I also wonder if her employer knows about her as well?
Here a short list of quotes from LR’s many posts on many venues -

And there are many, many more (and this fool has the audacity to say Roissy is immoral — LMFAO).
Gee, come to think of it, I also wonder if her new-found ‘friend’, the lady-of-many-titles Denise Romano, knows just how DANGEROUS this fool really is?
I also wonder if ‘Mizz’ Romano would want to be publically known to be associating with such an extreme and hateful person such as “Lady’ Shame”??
Hmm, might not be the best move and image for her ‘career’, eh?
Ferdinand, excellent post as always. I have been a bit lost with this whole LR-Romano-Roissy “war” or whatever, and what the heck happened… this helped clarify a lot of things.
I agree Roissy is an absolutely brilliant writer. The way he can spin a phrase; is he better at spitting Game or spitting Prose? Who knows.
As for Hope, if that Roissy post was still up it would be clear that I and I’m pretty sure sofia BOTH spoke in some form of support for her. Check the archives… my main issue with what Roissy said about her was to attack her ideas. If she aspired to a greater ideal and herself fell short, I don’t think it’s fair to say she’s full of sh*t and an awful person.
She got together with her ex at a very young age and perhaps youthful idealism + love bonding clouded her vision from seeing what was happening. Maybe in a moment of resentment, when she realized she had been fooling herself out of some misguided loyalty and idealized concept of love, she acted out in some different ways. Yes, that’s bad, she shouldn’t have done that. BUT to me, that doesn’t mean that her views are automatically bunk. (By the way, I was and am not a 100% up-to-date reader of Roissy so it’s possible I missed her earlier commentary about being the perfect faithful wife or something.)
I personally wish she would come back and post, but girl’s gotta do what she’s gotta do. I’ve made mistakes in my life, I’ve definitely done the wrong thing many times. I personally wouldn’t want someone cruelly dragging me through the mud as I process my own failings. Maybe in time I’d be ready to deal with reality vs. the dream… perhaps she’s the same way. (Again, I hope so because I did enjoy her commentary.)
Another ‘truthful moment’ from ‘lady’ cumstain -

“…Yes, we do pity the clients. We talk about them, laugh about them, mock their looks, and make bets on how much we can take from them. It’s called A JOB!!! I am HIRED to DO THAT and make money for the club. Take it up with the owners of strip clubs if you have a problem with them “making men victims”. …”
***
Hmm, I guess this whore (who now acts as if ‘she’ is some kind of ‘paragon of virtue’ in cyber-stalking Roissy), was somehow “forced” to become a stripper!!
So it was just a “job” to treat men poorly and abusively, and to be a low-life skank!
OMGoodness, she is DEFINATELY a danger to society and all those around her.
This ‘person’ needs some serious intervention before she hurts herself and/or someone else.
Is this it?

Roissy’s achilles heel is his age. On relevant topics, he deletes my comments re: paternal age and children’s intelligence, autism, schizophrenia, miscarriages, and a slew of mutational inherited disorders.
He allows most comments, but consistently deletes those re: sperml age and mutational burden. I think this explains why he rages against women’s aging.
My own synopsis of the affair is up.
Roissy does deserve credit for writing a popular blog that united game and male-friendly gender politics. But I don’t find this as ground-breaking as many do, so I’m not inclined to overlook the flaws in his perspective. (I already noticed the link between the seduction community and men’s rights back in 2003/2004, and I started writing about gender politics informed by game before Roissy: see here and here. Furthermore, virtually of Roissy’s game techniques are old hat to me.)
Unfortunately, Roissy misused his status and popularity when he went off the deep end talking about how he slapped his past girlfriend, how he thinks it was justified, and suggesting slapping women as part of game (links in my blog post, for those who haven’t been following along). He did not need to do those thinks to express the (undoubtedly correct) view that some women may be turned on by such behavior. The seduction community in general does not think that violence towards women is part of game, but thanks to Roissy, a lot of people will think that it does. Out of charity, I’ve asked him to clarify his views, and explain what is tongue-in-cheek and what is not (and no, people, it’s not obvious unless you think he can do no wrong), but he he has chosen not to.
I can’t stand the idea that out there, some good liberal nice guys like I used to be got turned off game, because they had first- or second-hand exposure to a guy on the internet that my wings haven’t even heard of. Fail.
Lady Raine and Denise Romano’s responses are of course over the top, as I observe on my blog. It’s funny that Lady Raine doesn’t think she is a “revenge feminist,” yet published the names of Roissy’s family members who don’t have anything to do with this. Yeah right.
I’m glad Roissy helped open up the discussion on game and gender politics, but in my view, the main positive result has not been primarily from his work, but from the people he inspired, like you and Thursday. When I found this blog, my reaction was: “Cool, a sane version of Roissy.”
I had no idea that all of this had occurred and just stumbled onto the whole storm through googling something about Roissy’s post. From his posts (didn’t notice anything deleted or any pictures on his blog, and I’ve been a visitor for about a year), I would have never heard anything about the turmoil.
Of course, I don’t agree with Roissy on quite some things (including his agressive stance towards everything), but I think he makes great points and presents them very eloquently. I’d certainly never link him with abuse of any kind, and would not consider his blog offensive.
The LR excerpt that you posted is harrowing to say the least. My first association was Gary Ridgway. While there are much worse things that can happen to a child than this, it still casts her as someone whose opinions I would take with a big grain of salt.
p.s. just read some more of the comments, including the Nazi/Auschwitz thingy. Now that is just messed up…
